Antique Vintage Old Gothic Victorian SOLID Walnut Wood Wooden Side Dining Accent Chair Caned Seat

Handsome, solid wood, vintage dining chair salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The chair is made of solid walnut and has a caned seat. It's stained and finished (unpainted).

It has a gorgeous design and includes 4 spindles in the backrest with quatrefoil cut-outs in the middle; carved grooves in all of the vertical and horizontal rails above the seat; turned front legs and stretchers.

Our carpenter inspected the chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to glue or reinforce anything. He mentioned that the bracket connecting the seat to the backrest must have snapped at some point. Whoever repaired that bracket, also reinforced the other for good measure, however, he didn't cover the screw hole and you could see the head of the screw. Although the repairs aren't aesthetically well done, the repairs are. He said the brackets are tight and secure. Overall, the chair is strong and sturdy.

Other than the noticeable repairs and scars, the chair is in great condition considering that it's at least 100 years old. Expect the typical nicks, scratches, and spots of worn finish hat you would expect to find on an old, used chair. There are no breaks, gouges, rot, or warp. The caning is intact, tight, and in excellent condition The chair is ready for another lifetime of service.
