Pair Sungott Art Studios NY Neoclassical Bisque Porcelain Bas Relief Wall Plaques Wood Gilt Domed Glass Hollywood Regency

This listing is for a vintage set of 2 wall plaques from the Sungott Art Studios, New York for Beauty for the Home. Each piece features an ivory bisque porcelain raised relief (cameo style) depicting an intricate neoclassical scene. The 3D relief is set against deep black background and housed in a round, ornate gold-gilt wooden frame with black outer rim. It is protected by a convex (domed glass). The original studio label is on the paper backing. Marked 593. Decorative brass hanging hooks. 

One is called “Autumn” which belongs to a famous allegorical series representing “The Four Seasons” originally modeled by the celebrated Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. Second depicts” Hercules receiving the drink of immortality from Hebe”, also attributed to Bertel Thorvaldsen.  

Each frame measures: 10” D x 1 1/2” Depth. Domed glass is 7 ½” D.

Excellent vintage conditions without cracks, chips, scratches on the frames. No missing relief elements. Very light sign of age. Original backing paper is torn.
