Burmese glass is an opaque art glass known for its characteristic gradient from a soft yellow at the bottom to a salmon pink at the top, created by adding uranium oxide and gold oxide to the glass mixture. Originally patented in 1885 by the Mount Washington Glass Company, it became popular during the Victorian era and was later licensed to companies like Thomas Webb & Sons in England. A key identifier is that genuine Burmese glass will glow a bright green under a UV backlight.

Size approx.: 4 1/2 high (to the top of the handle) x 3 1/2" wide x 3" depth.

PERFECT condition; no chips or cracks.  NOS. It came from an art glass collector who never displayed the basket. Bought it from the Williamstown, West Virginia factory in the late 1990’s and kept it packed since then.
