Vintage Hand Stitched Appliqué Cotton Quilt Two Tone Blue Floral Pattern Grandmother’s Dream Style Light Blanket 60 W x 86 L

This listing is for a vintage hand stitched appliqué quilt/blanket/ bedspread with scalloped edge.  The central medallions are a variation of the traditional “Grandmother’s Dream” (also closely related to “Country Bride” or “Blue Rose”) which is an eight lobed floral motif frequently interpreted as a stylized rose blossom or pomegranate. The shape is heavily rooted in German and Pennsylvania Dutch folk art motifs. The scalloped edge features contrasting blue fabric binding and hand appliquéd dots along the peaks. Backing is cotton white fabric. Tight hand quilting stitches. It was made in the 50’s great depression era.

Measures approx. 60”W x 86” L. It has been photographed on a queen-sized bed.

Condition: Very good. There are some yellowish aged and wear areas on fabric, but it still durable. The quilt is clean (freshly washed), displays beautifully, and retains wonderful vintage character. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
